Introduction

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom which has now been repealed and replaced by the Equality Act 2010. The Act quite rightly requires equal treatment in access. We are fully committed to making our online communications accessible to all. The World Wide Web Consortium is an international body responsible for setting standards for web technologies. Their task force, the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), is recognised as providing the benchmark in accessibility standards.

We ensure

- We maintain an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI);
- Users are able to resize copy using their browser:
- Internet Explorer: Page > Text size
- Firefox: View > Zoom
- Opera: View > Zoom
- Safari: View > Zoom in;
- We use foreground and background colour combinations suitable for those with visual impairments;
- Alt attributes are present and meaningful;
- The website is viewable across a number of screen resolutions, starting from 1024x768;
- All hyperlinks are present and meaningful;
- We provide an alternative to scripts which rely on a user’s device;
- We use plain English;

The website can be read across a number of platforms and browsers, including:

- Internet Explorer 7 and above
- Firefox 3.5 and above
- Opera 9 and above
- Safari 4 and above.
